“We are going to emancipate ourselves from mental slavery because whilst others might free the body, none but ourselves can free the mind. Mind is your only ruler, sovereign. The man who is not able to develop and use his mind is bound to be the slave of the other man who uses his mind.” — Marcus Garvey (via bkipekee)
Julie <3 You have perfect timing, do you know that? I spent all of today in bed, bawling my eyes out, pitying myself and considering different forms of self-harm when I randomly got an email from Tumblr with your message in it. This kinda made me tear up but in a good way, which was refreshing. I'm glad you didn't post it Anon. I don't question those who do post Anon questions in my ask; everyone has their own prerogatives, but it's still nice to be able to put a name/face/association to the message nonetheless. I hope you realise that I feel the absolute same about you. I have immense respect for you. Thank you so much for your message. Today of all days - I needed it the most. Like I said, good timing. <3 x infinity (+1 for good measure).
I’m really glad that I helped lift your spirits. Keep ‘em high :-)
Please do! Though chances are you're probably seeing my cousin. Been off tumblr for a couple of days, feels good to be back. I have deep deep love for this place. :]
I know, right. It’s cyber heaven for me right now. Yeah, *that* bad. Hehe.
“Eight percent of college men have either attempted or successfully raped. Thirty percent say they would rape if they could get away with it. When the wording was changed to “force a woman to have sex,” the number jumped to 58%. Worse still, 83.5% argue that “some women look like they are just asking to be raped.” —Margo Maine, Ph.D. (Body Wars)
“The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. No, the true measure of a man is this: how quickly can he respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give.” —Philip K. Dick (via wordpainting)
